Rooms
They will be given a room number with a key - an actual key - and pointed up the stairs. The room number will not always be something normal like "104". They can find their room by looking for it. The rooms next to it might not be actually expected and they might not always be the same.
The interior of each room looks exactly like the blandest hotel room of that person's time period and reality. A bed, dresser, nightstand, lamp, desk and chair, couch and a personal bathroom. If the technology level is high enough there is a TV or equivalent item though the shows on won't be any good or possibly something they're familiar with. If they're not from a time with such technology they'd would have some questionable books found within the dresser.
In the nightstand is a random item trinket that is randomly given to the characters because Alec thinks it's funny.
The walls are dull and painted an off white, the carpet is slightly plushy, the bed slightly uncomfortable, the towels a bit to scratchy and the blankets a bit too thin. But at least the beds and towels will be changed every day unless asked not to.
Characters will be able to personalize their rooms the longer they stay.
